A vintage French patisserie or pastry table, circa 1940s, having a solid rectangular Carrara marble top above a wrought iron apron featuring attractive pierced foliate and stylized fleur de lis details. Supported on a scrolling iron frame joined by stretchers with inset brass florets and finials. A versatile French work table that's perfect for use as a console, prep table, or side table.
Similar to butcher tables that were used as presentation tables in the boucherie window to display the best cuts of meat, this pastry table was used in a French patisserie. The difference between the two is that the pastry table has a solid marble top and the butcher table's marble top has a jus basin where the blood would run off.
