Background: Factor XIII is activated by thrombin and calcium ion to a transglutaminase that catalyzes the formation of gamma-glutamyl-epsilon-lysine cross-links between fibrin chains, thus stabilizing the fibrin clot. Also cross-link alpha-2-plasmin inhibitor, or fibronectin, to the alpha chains of fibrin.

Specificity: IgG
Bioworld Molecular Weight: Calculated MW: 83 kDa; Observed MW: 83 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Factor XIIIa in Jurkat lysates using Factor XIIIa antibody., Immunohistochemistry analysis of paraffin-embedded Human colon cancer using Factor XIIIa antibody. High-pressure and temperature Sodium Citrate pH 6. 0 was used for antigen retrieval.
