Many centuries ago, the Greek, Persian, and Assyrian empires controlled vast amounts of land and wealth. But despite their fortifications and imposing armies, rumors began to spread about a formidable enemy in the lands above the Black Sea.

They came on horseback. Fierce warriors, both male and female. Skilled with sword, ax and bow. But they were not mindless savages. Their craftsmen were known for their ability to create detailed trinkets from gold. They made leather armor and other weapons. They trained eagles for hunting and war. Some even believe they were the inspiration for the Greek stories of the Amazons. But they were more than a legend or fable. They were the Robbers of Scythia.

The aim of Rovers of Scythia is to be the player with the most Victory Points (VP) at the end of the game. VP are obtained by raiding settlements, taking plunder and completing missions. Players must assemble a crew, train animals and collect supplies. The game ends when there are only 2 unraided settlements or 2 missions left on the main board.
