Things that glow in the dark look cool, but they often meet a need. They light up a dark room, giving us comfort. Jesus said he is the light of the world. Over and over, Jesus gave light to people who needed it most, giving them hope, direction, and a new life.

Lessons:

Glowing Sheep
Scripture: Luke 2:8-18, The shepherds hear the good news of Jesus
Whoever heard of glowing sheep? There’s nothing about sheep that would make them glow - except maybe the light of a choir of angels overhead. The angels came not for the sheep but for the shepherds, announcing that Jesus had been born. Jesus came to give us hope in a dark world. 
Objective: Kids will learn that Jesus came to give us hope. 

Glowing Water
Scripture: John 4:1-26, 39-42, The woman at the well
If someone handed you water that was glowing, you probably wouldn’t drink it - and with good reason. Water doesn’t glow, but a Samaritan woman once had an illuminating experience with Jesus. After shining a light on who she was, he offered her a chance to take a new direction. Jesus lights the way for those who want to change their path. 
Objective: Kids will learn that Jesus shows us a better way to live. 

Glowing Eyes
Scripture: John 9:1-25, Jesus heals a blind man
Some animals can see very well in the darkness, almost to the point their eyes seem to glow. But the blind man’s eyes did not glow. They don’t work at all - not until Jesus opened them. The blind man could see what no one else around him could see: that Jesus is the Christ. 
Objective: Kids will say Jesus saves us from living in darkness.

Glowing Road
Scripture: Acts 9:1-30, Saul’s Conversion
Saul sent Jesus’s followers into hiding. They fled into the shadows when Saul came around. Then Jesus lit the road - literally - and blinded Saul with a bright light. The glow that took his sight showed him he was going the wrong way. Jesus turned him around and lit a new path for Saul to follow. 
Objective: Kids will say there is no sin too dark that the light of Jesus’ salvation cannot shine through.
