Chlorella microalgae
The tiny, spherical green alga Chlorella is one of the oldest organisms in the world and is packed with nutrients. The name Chlorella, which translates as “little green,” was derived from the properties of being small and green. Chlorella can bind enormous amounts of pollutants, so its growth must take place in an absolutely pure environment.

Sanatur was one of the first suppliers of Chlorella microalgae in Germany. At that time, chlorella that was suitable as a dietary supplement was called Chlorella pyrenoidosa. Later, scientific research restructured the nomenclature of Chlorella microalgae. Chlorella pyrenoidosa first became vulgaris and currently Chlorella sorokiniana. The strain that Sanatur uses has not changed and is still bred and strictly guarded by the partner farm in Taiwan, one of the leading algae farms in the world. Sanatur Chlorella, linked to over 35 years of tradition, was previously marketed under the name Chlorella pyrenoidosa. This is now scientifically correctly referred to as Chlorella sorokiniana. That's why we decided to use both names in the future.

To this day, Sanatur Chlorella meets the highest standards of quality and product safety.
We attach great importance to first-class and tested Chlorella microalgae. That's why you get Sanatur Chlorella in organic quality from a Naturland certified algae farm in Taiwan. According to Naturland guidelines, our algae may only be fertilized with a purely plant-based nutrient concentrate of organic quality. There are currently only 2 farms in the world that can comply with these strict requirements.
