Aspen's Miners took the field in 1889 as part of the Colorado State League, back when the town ran on silver and Saturday baseball. Mining camps across Colorado fielded teams that played with the same grit they brought underground. Before the silver crash changed everything, baseball gave a boomtown something to cheer for.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched distressed white text reads "COLORADO STATE LEAGUE" above a golden-yellow cartoon miner mascot in a batting pose, wearing a headlamp helmet and a large mustache, with "ASPEN" in yellow to the left and "ESTD 1889" stacked vertically to the right. White scripted text reads "MINERS" with a swooping tail underline below. Distressed yellow bold text reads "BASEBALL CLUB" above "ASPEN, COLORADO."
