Original to c.1910, this Edwardian era three-stone ring is set to centre with a remarkably vibrant natural Colombian emerald of 0.70ct. Appropriately emerald-cut for safety and security. Colombia is renowned for producing the world's finest emeralds, both historically and to this day. Indeed, the Colombian emerald remains the standard against which all other localities are judged. The colour of this emerald is captivating. A luminous tropical green evoking the rainforest dense landscape of the Muzo mountains from which this stone was sourced. It has a very pure and saturated colour with no notable undertones of yellow nor blue. Emeralds are typically very included gemstones, but Colombian stones are prized for their high clarity and this stone certainly does not disappoint - no notable inclusions that distract.
Elegantly claw set in platinum and flanked by two round old-cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.80ct. Hand-cut and displaying a beautifully soft sparkle characteristic of antique stones. Also claw set with refined split-prong detail. An open gallery with delicate scallop detail typical of the period, to lightly raised open shoulders with chenier detail, leading to a solid 18ct yellow gold band.
Excellent: all stones are secure and well set, with no damage to the mount. Professionally polished and carefully inspected by our workshop, ready to wear and enjoy.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
